Train the Trainer Canning Workshop Series

Purpose

  • To increase access to vegetables and fruit, particularly during the winter months

Program Description

This program involves the training of a small group of trainers who will then each offer a series of canning workshops at a host agency.  The intent of the canning workshops is to progress from initial hands-on skill building opportunities to independent canning sessions.  However, workshops may vary at different host organizations depending on participant needs.  Initial canning equipment and produce will be provided free of charge to host organizations and participants.  Depending on the number of workshops and participants and the finances secured for 2014, a small fee may be charged to participants to cover produce costs during workshops later in 2014.
