Volunteering

There are many opportunities to become involved with Grow Cook Learn. Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, get experience, and give back to the community. Grow Cook Learn is always looking for enthusiastic, motivated, and hardworking individuals to become a part of the organization. 

Volunteering Opportunities include:

  • Grow Cook Learn in a Box
  • Grow Cook Learn Workshops
  • Bingo Night
If you are interested in volunteering with us, please send us an email expressing your interest to lcrc@lcrc.on.ca and we will be in contact with you as soon as possible. 

Once a month Grow Cook Learn does a Bingo Night at the Forest City Bingo Country in order to help fund our various operations. 

Our upcoming bingo dates are:
Thursday October 3, 2019, 5pm-10pm
Sunday November 10, 2019, 5pm-10pm
Saturday January 4, 2020, 12:30pm-5:30pm
Monday February 10, 2020, 5pm-10pm
Wednesday March 4, 2020, 5pm-10pm

 

The following outlines the number of volunteers we are looking for and some tasks they will be expected to complete:

3 volunteers needed to arrive at 5:00 pm
– Count paper to be sold
– Verify float is correct with manager
– Set up 3 floats
– Sell Bingo cards
2 Volunteers to arrive at 6:15 pm
– Shutter board volunteers
– Handle payout to participants
– 2 volunteers can leave at 8 pm
– 3 must be present until 10 pm
– Balance cash with paperwork and prepare deposit
